a. ONGOING PROGRAMMES – PART AND PARCEL OF LEARNING
• Engaging Teaching Pedagogies to learn Tamil in a fun way. Students are taught skills to assisT in their learning. Co operative Learning is a key strategy used in the classroom.

• Building Information Communication Technology (ICT) at every level
- We are currently using the Murasu Anjal (MOE-Singapore) software.
- Currently all students from Primary 1 to 6 are taught to use Tamil 99 (MOE-Singapore) keyboard.
- Students from Primary 3 onwards will be applying their Touch Typing skills on level specific tasks in 2016. (see table below)
- All students are introduced to reliable and safe Tamil search engines to encourage research for learning.

Every year ,the Primary Four students will embark on a Learning Journey to Little India during the Pongal Festival week. They will engage in activities conducted at the premise. The knowledge and experience gained is used in completing their first unit of their prescribed textbook/workbook.

Students are engaged in varied forms of enrichment activities to enhance their oratorical and critical thinking skills as well as to provide an holistic approach to Learning Tamil through their assigned tasks. The Programmes vary annually based on the students’ needs.

Sharing our Indian Culture and Tradition with the whole school community at our Annual Pongal Celebration. The event is conducted on the second or third Friday afternoon in the month of January.

1. ANNUAL TAMIL LANGUAGE COMPETITION
This competition was introduced in 2009 . It aims to provide a platform for our students to showcase their proficiency in spoken Tamil Language. The competition is held on the last Friday of the month of April and is in conjunction with the National Tamil Language Month Celebrations.

All students are strongly encouraged to participate in the class based audition. The top 3 students of each level will compete on stage in front of all the TL students. The competition is run by the Primary 6 students with the advise and guidance of the Tamil Language teachers.
2. MOTHER TONGUE CULTURAL CAMP
This camp is been held on a Thursday either during the March or June holidays for students from Primary 3 to primary 6. Students are engaged in activities that promotes the use of the Tamil language and the provides knowledge about Tamil Culture.

1. MOTHER TONGUE FORTNIGHT ACTIVITIES
The students are introduced to Language activities during curriculum time in the month of June. They will be engaged in fun-filled classroom activities to promote the use of the Language and Culture. Two major activities are conducted over and above the fun filled classroom activities.

2. Equiping students with hands-on experience in Indian Tradition Games through ‘A GAME A YEAR’ programme.

3. Providing students the platform to showcase their knowledge of using the Tamil99 keyboard via FASTEST FINGER ON THE KEYBOARD Competition.
Students are assessed on speed and accuracy in this activity. The students will be given a passage /phrase which they will be required to type in the shortest time possible. This activity is another platform for students to use their Touch Typing skills learnt.

DEEPAVALI CELEBRATIONS
An annual event since 2008, the concert is run by the P5 TL students from compering to backstage management. All TL students from P1 to P6 are involved in this event which is performed infront of the whole school. This is another avenue to build students’ confidence in presentation skills.
